Teas from China
- China Pu-Erh - Pu-Erh (pronounced Poo-Air) is a red tea grown in the Yunnan District of China, with a slightly smokey, earthy flavour and a dark cup. Best of all, the 5th cup is as good as the 1st! A very refreshing drink enjoyed by Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, it is said to help digest fats and boost metabolism when drunk after meals, encouraging the body to absorb less fat.
This tea is usually on our menu during the winter months
- China Gunpowder - China Gunpowder tea is from the Zhejiang Province of China. Its English name (gunpowder) is so-called because each leaf is rolled into a small round pellet, or ‘pearl’, resembling a gunpowder pellet. Rolling tea leaves into gunpowder tea (‘pearls’) renders the leaves less susceptible to physical damage and allows them to retain more of their flavour and aroma.
Our China Gunpowder is a classic green tea with a strong character & a yellow green cup.
